VIEILLE HALLE AUX BLES / OLD GRANARY

On permanent display
« La Fontaine aux Oiseaux », 1996, sculpture en marbre rose du Portugal (on permanent display)
Temporary exhibition
This exceptional exhibition will showcase tapestries created by Folon and woven by the renowned Aubusson weavers. Ceramic works in natural or coloured terracotta complete this beautiful display with its warm and varied hues.
The old granary of Durbuy has been classified as an exceptional Walloon heritage building and is situated in the centre of the city opposite the castle ramparts. The first mention of the granary dates from 1380. Its current structure is the result of a renovation in 1718. The granary was subsequently used as a tithe barn, a wheat warehouse, etc. and above all as the main judiciary and administrative centre in the Land of Durbuy. After several restorations, the granary has become an indispensable cultural centre in Belgium’s smallest city, where it hosts numerous exhibitions.
